The perception that conventional medicine is the only  care option is changing.  The Flathead Valley community has begun to embrace a more holistic approach to health care by combining acupuncture and other complementary modalities with Western medicine.

         Acupuncture at North Valley Hospital

As part of the Planetree Program, acupuncture was added to North Valley Hospital‘s list of adjunct therapies that a patient may receive while admitted to the hospital.  With a doctor’s referral, patients can utilize acupuncture to help treat:
  • relieve post-operative pain
  • fibromyalgia
  • osteoarthritis
  • chronic menstrual cramps
  • chemotherapy-induced nausea/vomiting
  • headache, migraines, tennis elbow
  • low back pain
  • post-operative dental pain

We participate in the Baby Classes offered by the Birthing Center.  We teach about the uses of acupuncture and acupressure during labor to help with pain management, stress control and promote effective contractions.

Since we are considered allied health professionals and not employed by the hospital, patients are responsible for paying for their acupuncture treatment separately from any other hospital bills that may be incurred while admitted to the hospital.  Cost of treatment is $80.
